Bernhard Langer is trying hard to win his third major on the Champions Tour this season, and one of those watching closely from afar is European Ryder Cup captain Colin Montgomery. Langer is two strokes behind leader Tom Lehman heading into Sunday’s final round of the Jeld-Wen Tradition at Crosswater Club.
Langer, however, is focused on the task at hand and not whether he’ll be one of the four captain’s picks by Montgomery.
“Why wonder what might happen?” said Langer, who has played on 10 Ryder Cup teams. “I’ll just try to do the best I can. I have none of the other stuff under control. It is nice to be mentioned and it would be a great honor to represent the European team one more time. But the captain will make those selections and it’s really out of my control. I don’t envy him. He’s got a lot of great players to choose from.”
