Gil Morgan knows that sports and the aging process don’t mix very well, but “there are times when we still can hit those good shots.” That was the case Friday when Morgan followed his 68 with a 69 for a two-round total of 7-under-par 137, three strokes off the lead held by D.A. Weibring at the Jeld-Wen Tradition.
“I’m glad to be where I’m at,” said the 63-year-old Morgan, who was sidelined for seven weeks earlier this year with a pinched nerve in his neck. “I’ve putted a lot better than I have all year.”
